The first week of the year can be summed up in one word... SNOW. We got hit hard. Level 3 snow emergencies make for 2 days off of work, score!
It was beautiful. I love living where we do for this reason. The trees just seem to shine. Mr. C gets excited to get out on the mower/plow to take care of our drive, which is a 2-hr event.
Temps were down to -18° {windchill of -38°} at one point. Weatherman were urging you to not be out longer then mere minutes without covering every single inch of your body to avoid frostbite!
He doesn't care... he is a machine.
The boys on the other hand, they were sure to do their business as fast as possible!
To get right back inside to warm up.
The left is the total snowfall over 2 days. The right, is the total in a matter of maybe 6 hours. It was craziness but it really was beautiful.
The first day of snow the temperature was mild so I was able to sit on the front porch with Dudley & a glass of wine and just take it all in.
We survived the mini blizzard of 2014. After being stuck in the house for 72 hours, I was actually excited to get to work yesterday... that feeling has since passed!
